Doctoriales®
Les Doctoriales® represent unique opportunities for PhD students to meet together. They allow doctoral students to reflect upon their professional project and prepare for their post-doctoral career, within a relaxed, convivial setting and benefitting from a dedicated accompaniment.
The Doctoriales® also act as windows into research and innovation developed for all socio-economic players. These special gatherings allow PhD students to meet representatives of various socio-economic sectors.
"My Thesis in 180 seconds"
Ma thèse en 180 secondes (“My Thesis in 180 Seconds”) is a competition allowing PhD students to present their research subject simply and in French to the general public. Each participant has 3 minutes max to clearly, concisely and convincingly present his/her research project – all with the help of a single slide.
Sciences en Cour[t]s
Sciences en Cour[t]s is a short-film festival that offers PhD students the unique opportunity to shoot short films on their thesis work.
The goal is to answer – in an entertaining yet educational manner – questions often asked by the public, notably:
- What’s the use of a thesis?
- What do PhD students do?
- How does one's scientific approach take shape?
- What research themes are explored at the university? …
The only imperative is to render the science easily understandable and accessible, via short, dynamic and fun films no matter the field of study (within the social and experimental sciences).
"PhDs & Companies" Forum
The Forum Docteurs & Entreprises is organized every two years by Brittany’s young researcher associations (Dakodoc for Brest and Nicomaque for Rennes). This event brings together Breton academia and Brittany-based companies, with future doctorate holders lent centre stage.
